Some time before Willow's arrest, there was a reported robbery at the Gallery, it is unknown who the robber was and what Doggy and the Player did to stop them but after that, the Gallery closed. Since then, they have been on every case together. This was presumably done by Doggy's choice or Doggy's boss paired them up. At some point, Doggy was a partner with the Player, who was presumably still a detective and not a police officer at the time.
